We have received a large number of submissions following on from our survey request as outlined in our last newsletter.
The survey results have highlighted the anxiety of many assessors. The impact described by the assessors on them by the level of audits and the general demure of those they are dealing with in some cases are described as cold. This cannot continue and as promised we did raise it at the SEAI meeting.
We attended the SEAI offices for a meeting with an agenda agreed by the association committee. The agenda was sent in advance at SEAI’s request. This should have given an opportunity to SEAI to have some answers for us.The minutes from this meeting can be accessed by clicking here. Accessible to MEMBERS ONLY once logged in. The link has a full copy of the meeting minutes as issued by SEAI.
The meeting was constructive, however the minutes do not necessarily reflect our interpretation of the agenda. “What’s New“.
The meeting was attended by 4 committee members and 4 SEAI staff members who were representative of the main incumbents that deal with Assessor business on a daily basis.
We have at some member’s request had some consultation with our legal advisors, this will be reported directly to members only.
Also we have engaged with the political lobby to generate interest in the work and concerns of assessors to the Minister.
All of which is done without prejudice and is only for the rights and entitlements of our members.
At the request of Members, we have once again had a look at the Insurance available to assessors, which includes all that is required by SEAI. We are pleased to confirm that Wexford Insurance with the package they have provided, offer a reasonable deal for you. Not being able to work due to illness is serious for sole traders, so we have asked for a package designed for us.
The company will also issue a brochure with the Association colour scheme and logo.
They will also join us as a corporate sponsor and we would ask that all our sponsors be supported.
All our sponsors logos will be displayed on our interactive map on our website with links. We need your membership they need your support.
SUPPORT YOUR ASSOCIATION by recommending us to others
All of the Costs of the Association year to date have come from existing funds, these include the updating of the website, the various costs associated with the running of the events, legal advice of behalf of the members and the overall administration.
We now need to build on the funds that remain, so please encourage your colleagues and associates to sign up to membership. The quality of our events alone gives back the value of your membership fee.
